On Friday, the National Youth Service Corps inaugurated 2,040 corps members of the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream I for their one-year national service.

The programme is designed to strengthen national unity, foster integration, and drive community-driven development, while teaching young Nigerians discipline and patriotism.

Commissioner Yakubu Kwanta, representing Governor Abdullahi Sule, officially declared the orientation open.

He was joined by Hajiya Salamatu Muhammad, the NYSC State Coordinator, who welcomed 838 men and 1,202 women into the scheme and urged them to embrace the values of service.

The ceremony took place at the Magaji Dan-Yamusa NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Keffi, Nasarawa State.

Over the coming weeks, the new corps members will follow an orientation course that covers civic responsibilities, vocational skills training, and an introduction to local customs to prepare them for effective deployment and community integration.
