Music legend, Innocent Ujah Idibia, publicly known as 2Baba, has broken his silence on the struggles within his marriage to Nollywood actress Annie Macaulay-Idibia, describing the relationship as “living in bondage.”

In a snippet from an upcoming episode of the +234 Mzansi Podcast, hosted by comedians Nedu and Acapella alongside South African media personality Kifilwe, 2Baba opened up about the emotional challenges he endured during the course of their marriage.

“This thing wey dem call ‘living in bondage’ is real. There were some people who were ready to kill me,” the singer said, hinting at the intense emotional strain and external pressures he faced while married to Annie.

2Baba and Annie, who had been in an on-and-off relationship for years, tied the knot in May 2012. Their marriage produced two daughters—Isabella and Olivia—but was frequently rocked by public controversies, including allegations of infidelity, emotional outbursts, and drama shared on social media platforms.

On January 26, 2025, 2Baba officially announced the couple’s separation, sparking a wave of public reactions. Not long after the announcement, he introduced a new relationship with Natasha Osawuru, a member of the Edo State House of Assembly. The relationship progressed swiftly, leading to a traditional wedding ceremony in Benue State, attended by close family members and kinsmen.

Annie, on the other hand, has yet to publicly address the split or respond to 2Baba’s revelations, leaving many fans and observers curious about her perspective on the breakup and the singer’s recent comments.

As the full podcast episode is set for release, the public awaits further insights into the turbulent relationship that once captivated fans across the continent.
