Panic erupted among traders at the popular Army Arena Market in Oshodi, Lagos, on Tuesday evening after a fire broke out in parts of the market.
The incident was confirmed by the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) through a post on its official X (formerly Twitter) account. According to the agency, the fire occurred inside the Arena Shopping Mall along Agege Motor Road.
LASTMA stated that emergency responders from the Lagos State Rescue Service were swiftly deployed to the scene and were working to extinguish the inferno.
As of the time of reporting, the cause of the fire and the extent of damage had not been officially disclosed. There were also no immediate reports of casualties.
