A fatal road accident occurred on Thursday at the NASFAT junction along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, leaving many passengers feared dead.
An 18-seater commercial bus travelling from Lagos reportedly rammed into a truck that was making a U-turn near the NASFAT area. The impact forced the bus to slide underneath the truck, trapping several passengers, while others were left unconscious at the scene.
Eyewitnesses said residents and emergency responders were making frantic efforts to rescue victims trapped in the wreckage.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun State, Afolabi Odunsi-Oyewole, said the command had been alerted to the crash but was yet to receive a detailed report.
As of the time of filing this report, rescue operations were still ongoing.
