Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force attached to Area ‘M’ Command, Idimu, have recorded a major breakthrough with the arrest of two domestic workers over the alleged theft of luxury items and cash valued at ₦118 million in Ikeja, Lagos.
The suspects, Agbohunon Micheal (25) and Agbohunon Eric (22), both Togolese nationals, are accused of conspiring with a female housemaid, now at large, to steal a Rolex wristwatch, gold jewellery, a Samsung Galaxy phone and cash belonging to their employer, Olarewaju Moshood. The incident reportedly occurred on August 5, 2025, at Alfred Garden Estate, Ikeja.
Following a formal complaint by the victim, the Area Commander, ACP Tokunbo Abaniwonda, immediately deployed detectives who relied on CCTV footage and other intelligence to track and arrest the suspects. The investigation, led by Inspector Fagbohunbe Raphael, yielded confessional statements and the recovery of key evidence, culminating in a strong case file.
The suspects were subsequently arraigned before the Ogba Magistrate Court, where they pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy and stealing, contrary to the Lagos State Criminal Law. The court ordered their remand at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre and adjourned the matter to December 15, 2025, for conviction and sentencing.
The arrest underscores the growing effectiveness of Area ‘M’ Command under the leadership of ACP Abaniwonda, who is widely regarded within policing circles for her emphasis on rapid-response investigations, evidence-led policing and officer accountability. Under her watch, Area ‘M’ has continued to rank among the more proactive police commands in Lagos in tackling urban crime.
