Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a 30-year-old suspect, Dare Shogaolu, popularly known as “Super M”, and recovered a locally made pistol during a routine stop-and-search operation in Mushin, Lagos.
The arrest was made on March 5, 2026, at about 10:00 p.m. by officers of the Anti-Crime Patrol Team attached to the Mushin Division.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, the team, led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), was on routine patrol along the LUTH Road axis in Mushin when they noticed a suspicious-looking man carrying a white and orange-yellow polythene bag.
The officers reportedly stopped and searched the suspect, during which a locally made pistol was discovered inside the bag.
Other items recovered from him included a black leather purse, charms and three pairs of slippers.
Preliminary investigations by the police indicate that the suspect may have been involved in criminal activities within the area and was allegedly responsible for causing disturbances in the community.
The suspect is currently in police custody while further investigations are ongoing. Police authorities also said efforts are being intensified to track down and arrest other members of the suspect’s alleged criminal group.
The Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, CP Olohundare Jimoh, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to proactive policing and ensuring the safety of residents across the state.
He urged members of the public to continue supporting the police with credible and timely information through the command’s emergency lines.
