The Ogun State Police Command has dismissed reports claiming that popular entertainer Samuel Perry, widely known as Broda Shaggi, was shot within the state.
In a statement issued on Friday, the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Oluseyi B. Babaseyi, said the police could not confirm that such an incident occurred anywhere within Ogun State.
According to the statement, no report of the alleged shooting has been received at any police formation across the state.
“The Ogun State Police Command wishes to address reports alleging that the entertainer Broda Shaggi was shot within Ogun State. For clarity, the Command cannot confirm that such an incident occurred anywhere within its jurisdiction,” the statement read.
The command added that investigations have nonetheless been initiated to ascertain the facts surrounding the claim and determine the true circumstances of the report.
Babaseyi urged members of the public to rely only on official police communications while the investigation is ongoing.
He also reaffirmed the command’s commitment to ensuring the safety of residents and maintaining law and order across Ogun State.
