A Lagos trader, Ebere Ezetoha, 44, faces serious charges for allegedly sexually abusing his four-year-old daughter.
He appeared in an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court on Friday, where he was accused of digitally penetrating the child, an act reportedly witnessed by her mother after hearing her cries. The incident took place on Valentine’s Day at their home in Ago Palace, Okota, Lagos.
Digital penetration is a legal term used to describe sexual abuse of inserting fingers into a vagina or anus.
Prosecutor Adegoke Ademigbuji informed the court that this offense violates Section 135 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015. Ezetoha pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Chief Magistrate Omolara Kushanu granted him bail set at N500,000 with two sureties, and the case has been adjourned until April 9 for further mention.
