The Katsina State Secretary of the New Nigerian People’s Party, Tijjani Kafinsoli, has directed party members to register with the African Democratic Congress.
He delivered the directive in Katsina, outlining a coordinated shift involving members across all 34 local government areas.
The decision reflects a broader political move following the alignment of party leader Rabiu Kwankwaso with the ADC ahead of the 2027 elections.
Kafinsoli said party structures will remain intact during the transition, with officials retaining their current roles.
He stressed collective action, stating, “All party officials, from the ward up to the state levels, should hold on and not individually join the ADC, because the entire party will move into the party collectively.”
He also instructed members without official positions to secure ADC membership, adding, “All NNPP card-carrying members who do not hold any position should quickly obtain the ADC membership card and attach it to their voter card.”
Party leaders continue discussions aimed at forming a unified structure before the elections.
