The Nigerian DJ Association (NDJ) has announced a temporary ban on songs by Afrobeats star Burna Boy following a reported altercation with fellow disc jockey, DJ Tunez.

The incident allegedly took place on Monday at Obi’s House, a well-known weekly Afrobeats event in Lagos. Eyewitness accounts suggest that what began as a verbal disagreement between the two escalated into a physical confrontation, with members of Burna Boy’s entourage reportedly getting involved before the situation was brought under control.

Although the exact cause of the dispute remains unclear, social media speculation points to underlying industry tensions, including DJ Tunez’s close ties with Wizkid, who is frequently compared to Burna Boy by fans.

In response, the NDJ issued a statement condemning hostility and discrimination within the DJ community, while calling for unity and mutual respect across the entertainment industry.

The association also announced that Burna Boy’s music will be removed from DJs’ playlists nationwide pending the outcome of an internal investigation into the incident.

According to the NDJ, the decision reflects its commitment to protecting its members and upholding fairness and professionalism within the industry.
