Oba Femi wins...as Lesnar lays on the floor

Nigerian wrestling star Oba Femi made a remarkable entrance onto WWE’s biggest stage, defeating veteran powerhouse Brock Lesnar in under five minutes at WrestleMania 42.

The 27-year-old, born Isaac Odugbesan in Lagos, delivered a dominant performance that quickly became one of the night’s standout moments. Despite an early offensive push from Lesnar, Femi absorbed the pressure and turned the match around with impressive strength and composure.

The turning point came after Lesnar executed his signature F5, only for Femi to recover swiftly. He responded with a powerful chokeslam before sealing the victory with his “Fall From Grace” sit-out powerbomb.

In a symbolic gesture after the bout, Lesnar left his gear in the ring—often interpreted in professional wrestling as a sign of retirement.

Femi, known as “The Ruler,” has rapidly climbed the ranks since joining WWE in 2021 through its NIL programme. He previously built his reputation in NXT, where he became a two-time champion and held the NXT North American title.

His achievements also include winning the 2023 NXT Men’s Breakout Tournament and the 2024 Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge.

The victory has sparked excitement among Nigerian fans, with many seeing it as a defining moment in his career. Following the match, Femi further stirred anticipation by calling out Roman Reigns, hinting at a possible title challenge in the near future.

Standing at 6’4” and weighing about 310 pounds, Femi’s blend of size, athleticism, and confidence signals the arrival of a new force in WWE.
