A member of the House of Representatives, James Faleke, has obtained the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship Expression of Interest and Nomination forms for Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Kadri Hamzat.
He also bought forms for Idiat Adebule, senator representing Lagos West and for himself for Ikeja federal constituency. Tinubu, Adebule and Faleke all come from the Lagos West senatorial district.
This development comes shortly after Faleke purchased the APC presidential nomination forms for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, signaling coordinated political moves ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Sources within the party disclosed that Faleke paid N50 million for the Lagos governorship forms on behalf of Hamzat, further reinforcing speculations about the Deputy Governor’s potential bid for the state’s top office.
Hamzat, who currently serves as Deputy Governor of Lagos State, has yet to make an official declaration regarding his governorship ambition. However, political observers say the purchase of the forms indicates growing momentum around his possible candidacy.
The move is expected to intensify political discussions within the Lagos APC as stakeholders begin positioning ahead of the party’s primaries.
Party officials have maintained that all aspirants will be given a level playing field in line with the party’s guidelines and the electoral framework governing the 2027 elections.
