The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 21-year-old suspect in connection with a series of kidnappings and killings across the state.

Commissioner of Police, Fatai Tijani, disclosed this while briefing journalists at the Command Headquarters in Ikeja on Wednesday, saying the arrest followed credible intelligence and coordinated surveillance operations targeting a suspected kidnapping syndicate.

He said the suspect was arrested alongside a 23-year-old accomplice during a raid in the Ikorodu area at about 8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 27.

Preliminary investigations reportedly linked the suspects to the abduction and killing of 17-year-old Thomson Adams on April 22. The victim was allegedly kidnapped, held for ransom, and later killed despite ongoing communication with his family.

Tijani further revealed that the 21-year-old suspect confessed to another kidnapping incident carried out on November 30, 2025, involving his then-girlfriend, who was also killed after a ransom of N300,000 was paid.

He described the cases as “gruesome and disturbing,” noting that they pointed to a wider criminal network operating within the state. According to him, efforts are ongoing to track down other members of the syndicate and uncover additional victims.

The police commissioner assured that the command remains committed to dismantling kidnapping networks through intelligence-led policing and urged residents to provide useful information to security agencies.

He added that the suspects will be charged to court upon completion of investigations.
