Former Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, has congratulated Dr. Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat on his emergence as the consensus governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Ambode described Hamzat’s emergence as a reflection of his loyalty, dedication, and long-standing commitment to the party. He commended the deputy governor’s consultations with party leaders and members, noting that they demonstrated his alignment with the APC’s ideals of unity and progress.
Ambode expressed confidence in Hamzat’s capacity to lead, stating that Lagos State stands to benefit from his experience and governance skills.
The former governor also reaffirmed his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election, emphasizing that Nigeria’s continued growth and prosperity are closely tied to the President’s leadership and vision.
He called on party members in Lagos to mobilize support ahead of the elections, urging them to work towards delivering at least three million votes for the President. Ambode also stressed the importance of securing victories for APC candidates at both state and federal levels, including returning all party-nominated lawmakers to the National Assembly.
Ambode concluded by expressing optimism about the future of Lagos State and Nigeria, stating that the best days lie ahead.
