A man who identified himself as DJ Chicken’s lawyer has appealed to Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, to forgive the controversial entertainer following his alleged arrest over comments made about the President’s son.
In a video circulating online, the lawyer said DJ Chicken whose real name is Ademola Abiodun was arrested in Ikeja and is currently in the custody of security authorities.
“DJ Chicken is now with the authorities. He was arrested at Ikeja. He’s now at Ikeja police headquarters, but I’m very sure it is the DSS,” he said.
According to the lawyer, the arrest is linked to remarks the entertainer allegedly made about Seyi Tinubu. Chicken had said he will kill Seyi if the dad is reflected president in 2027.
Making an emotional appeal, he urged fans, supporters and individuals with connections to the Presidency to intervene.
“Please, fans and well-wishers, people that like Chicken, people that are close to the presidency, please help us to beg. We earnestly beg the President and the son of the President, Seyi Tinubu, to please forgive Chicken,” he pleaded.
The lawyer also claimed that DJ Chicken has mental health challenges, saying, “He’s not okay like that. We are just managing him. In fact, Chicken is my personal project. I just picked interest in him.”
Acknowledging that his client had erred, he added, “There is nothing I can do. The evidence is more than sufficient. He has messed up, but we are begging. Everybody I know who is close to Seyi Tinubu, I will start calling them now just for us to beg. They should please forgive him. We will do everything.”
As of the time of filing this report, neither the Nigeria Police Force nor the Department of State Services (DSS) has officially confirmed the arrest or the lawyer’s claims.
