President of the Senate Godswill Akpabio has apologised to Senator Adams Oshiomhole over remarks he made about the former Edo State governor during plenary, reaffirming a truce between the two lawmakers.
The apology followed Oshiomhole’s light-hearted reminder that both men had agreed to end their public exchanges after previous disagreements, including comments over his “dead or alive” remark on former NNPC Group Chief Executive Officer Mele Kyari and references to a viral foot massage video.
Responding, Akpabio said he never intended to offend Oshiomhole and apologised for any hurt his remarks may have caused.
“Sorry, we have a truce. No more hostilities. Agreement is agreement,” the Senate President said, assuring the chamber that he would no longer refer to Oshiomhole’s previous comments as “unsenatorial.”
Akpabio described Oshiomhole as a brother, friend and former colleague in the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, stressing that their agreement to end the exchanges remains intact.
