Henry Okoye, elder brother of former P-Square members Peter and Paul Okoye, has expressed doubts that the estranged twins will reconcile and restore the close relationship they once shared.
Henry spoke in an interview with social commentator Jos Connection at the Okoye family’s residence in Plateau State on Friday, amid the latest fallout between the brothers and their elder sibling, Jude Okoye, who previously managed the music duo.
According to Henry, Peter has made efforts to resolve the dispute, but the prolonged nature of the disagreement has caused significant damage to the relationship between the twins.
“Peter is trying,” Henry said, while expressing surprise at the changes he believes he has seen in Paul’s attitude towards the family.
He recalled that Paul was previously a kind and supportive member of the family and appealed to him to forgive Peter and make efforts towards restoring peace.
Henry also brought Jude into the dispute, accusing him of becoming increasingly involved in the affairs of the twins after P-Square began making money.
He claimed that the brothers had initially promised him a 20 per cent share when they became financially successful but alleged that Jude later intervened and prevented the arrangement from taking effect.
“They promised me 20 per cent when they start making money. Jude intervened and dismissed that. I challenged him that he wasn’t there when we started everything but now chasing everybody away from them,” he said.
Henry said he would be happy if Peter and Paul reunited but was not confident that such a development would happen.
“I will be happy for them to come back together but I don’t think it will happen. Paul was a very kind person,” he added.
He also recalled a personal financial issue involving the family. Henry said that after the death of his wife’s father, he approached Peter over money he believed was owed to him, but Peter directed him to Jude, saying Jude was responsible for the funds.
“When Peter’s wife’s dad died, I spoke to them why they left only me in Jos, Peter said I should meet Jude, he’s the one holding my money,” he said.
Henry said he wanted the entire family to reunite and claimed that he had made several attempts to mediate the dispute. He also said businessman Shehu Dantata had intervened in an effort to resolve the disagreements but that his efforts did not produce the desired outcome.
He appealed to Jude to play a role in restoring peace within the family, urging him to help resolve the disagreements among the siblings.
Henry further appealed to Paul to forgive Peter, recalling the support Peter allegedly gave him when he was hospitalised.
“I want all the family to come back. I have tried my best,” he said.
The latest intervention comes against the backdrop of the long-running disagreement that has repeatedly fractured the relationship between Peter and Paul.
The twins, who rose to prominence as P-Square, first split in 2017 following years of reported disagreements. They reunited in 2021, prompting excitement among fans and hopes that their differences had been permanently resolved.
The reconciliation, however, did not last. The brothers fell out again in 2024, with Peter publicly accusing Paul and Jude of actions that he said contributed to the breakdown of the group and disputes over its finances.
Peter subsequently raised questions over the management of P-Square’s royalties and alleged that another company, Northside Music Limited, linked to Jude and his wife, was receiving royalties belonging to the music group.
Paul, however, defended Jude and accused Peter of contributing to the legal difficulties confronting their elder brother.
In February 2025, Paul said he was supporting Jude because he believed Jude knew the truth about the issues surrounding P-Square’s finances. He also blamed Peter for putting Jude through the legal ordeal.
Jude was later arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over alleged financial offences involving N1.38 billion, $1 million and £34,537.59. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Peter subsequently testified against Jude, alleging that the former P-Square manager secretly incorporated Northside Music Limited and used the company to collect royalties belonging to the group.
The financial dispute has continued before the courts. During cross-examination in February 2026, Peter admitted that he was a co-signatory to the Northside Entertainment Limited account, contrary to an earlier position that Jude was the sole signatory.
The dispute has since played out publicly, with Peter and Paul making conflicting statements about their relationship, the management of P-Square’s finances and Jude’s role in the collapse of the group.
Henry’s latest intervention therefore represents another attempt by a member of the Okoye family to bring the estranged brothers together.
Despite his doubts about the possibility of reconciliation, Henry said he had forgiven his siblings and remained hopeful that the family could eventually put the prolonged dispute behind them.
He urged Peter, Paul and Jude to set aside their differences and work towards restoring peace within the family.
