The incident reportedly occurred between 10pm and 11pm on Friday when suspected cultists stormed the estate and opened fire.

A source, who spoke on condition of anonymity for fear of reprisal, said Stanley was shot several times, including in the head, before the attackers fired into the air and fled.

“They just stormed the estate and started shooting. Stanley, the security man on duty, was shot several times, and in the head too, before they shot in the air and fled the area,” the source said.

The incident was also reported on social media, where users shared videos and posts alleging that suspected cult members carried out the attack.

Confirming the incident on Monday, the Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, Abimbola Adebisi, said Stanley was shot by two unidentified persons riding a motorcycle.

“The incident occurred. He was shot by two unknown individuals on a motorcycle. The command has launched an investigation into the incident. No suspect yet,” she said.
