The Finance and Business Online Publishers (FiBOP) will hold its 2026 annual conference on October 17 and 18 at Orchids Hotel, Lekki, Lagos, with a focus on strategies for achieving Nigeria’s $1 trillion economy ambition.
The two-day conference, themed “Unlocking Nigeria’s Economic Potential: Taxation, Industry, Insurance, Fintech, Trade & Investment as Catalysts for Nigeria’s $1 Trillion Vision,” is expected to bring together policymakers, regulators, business leaders, investors, development partners and other key stakeholders.
According to FiBOP, the conference will examine policies and opportunities across critical sectors of the economy and develop practical recommendations for accelerating economic growth.
Discussions will cover taxation and revenue mobilisation, manufacturing and industrialisation, small and medium-sized enterprises, insurance and financial inclusion, fintech and digital payments, exports, intra-African trade, port efficiency, and investment in infrastructure and other growth areas.
Chairman of the FiBOP Conference Planning Committee, Barnabas Esiet, said the event would provide a platform for stakeholders to assess Nigeria’s economic direction and develop practical solutions for strengthening growth, investment and national development.
Esiet said the committee was committed to ensuring that discussions produce actionable outcomes, particularly in the areas of economic reforms, financial inclusion, enterprise development, job creation and the role of credible journalism in supporting informed decision-making.
FiBOP President, Charles Onwuatogwu, said the organisation was committed to promoting conversations capable of shaping Nigeria’s economic future.
“As business and financial journalists, we are committed to amplifying conversations that shape Nigeria’s economic future. FiBOP 2026 will bridge the gap between policy and practice, serving as a catalyst to unearth, deepen and strengthen the nation’s potentials and provide actionable insights for achieving the $1 trillion economy vision by 2030,” Onwuatogwu said.
The organisers said the conference comes at a critical time as the Federal Government pursues reforms aimed at repositioning Nigeria for greater competitiveness and sustainable economic growth.
