President Bola Tinubu has arrived in France to continue his three-week annual leave after spending the first part of his vacation in London, United Kingdom.
The president was received in France by Nigeria’s ambassador to the country, Emmanuel Ayodele Oke.
Tinubu began his annual leave on August 30 and is expected to return to Nigeria after the vacation.
Bayo Onanuga, presidential spokesperson, had described the trip as a “working vacation”, saying the president would spend time in Europe before returning home.
Onanuga had also said Tinubu’s first destination would be London and that the president would return to Nigeria to join preparations ahead of the January 2027 election.
Tinubu’s 2026 vacation follows Vice-President Kashim Shettima’s two-week leave. Shettima returned to Nigeria on August 18, two days earlier than scheduled.
The president also took a 10-day annual leave in September 2025, during which he visited the United Kingdom and France.
