President Bola Tinubu has departed Paris, France, for Nigeria after concluding his working vacation, with his aircraft expected to land at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos, later on Tuesday.
According to a statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu will spend several days in Lagos, where he is expected to honour the memory of the late Chief MKO Abiola and hold strategic meetings with political leaders and associates ahead of the 2027 elections.
The President is scheduled to attend the premiere of a movie celebrating Abiola, the presumed winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential election, on Independence Day at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Arts and Culture, Iganmu, Lagos.
Tinubu departed Abuja on August 30 for his working vacation. He spent a week in London before proceeding to Paris.
During his stay in Paris, the President attended a private dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron and held meetings with business leaders, including Vincent Bolloré of the Bolloré Group, whose media and digital interests include Canal+, MultiChoice and Universal Music Group.
On Monday, Tinubu also met with businessman and Chairman of First Holdings, Femi Otedola.
Last week, the President witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ogun State Government and DP World for the development of a Gateway deep seaport in Ogun Waterside and a Blue Marine Economic Zone.
DP World is expected to invest $7 billion in the seaport and economic zone project.
After his political engagements in Lagos, President Tinubu is expected to return to Abuja.
