A fellow gospel singer and friend of the late gospel artiste Toluwanisings, Lanre Alewilese, has debunked a viral fundraising appeal purportedly seeking financial support for the singer’s wife and children.

Alewilese warned members of the public against donating through unauthorised channels, describing the circulating appeal as false.

The fundraising flyer, which featured the late singer’s photograph, had circulated on social media, urging fans and well-wishers to contribute towards the welfare of his immediate family.

Reacting to the development, Alewilese issued a disclaimer on social media, urging the public to disregard the appeal and report the page responsible for sharing it.

“Disclaimer!!! This is not true please. Please let’s report this page massively. If at all something like this will come up it will be from this page. Thank you,” he wrote.

He advised members of the public to verify any fundraising initiative through the singer’s official platform before making financial contributions.

The warning comes amid an outpouring of tributes and condolences following the announcement of Toluwanisings’ death on October 14, 2026.

His death has drawn reactions from fans and members of the gospel music community, with sympathisers expressing condolences to his family.
