The National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved 34 undergraduate programmes for the newly established Federal University of Science and Technology, Epe, Lagos State, ahead of the 2026/2027 academic session.
The approval, conveyed in a letter dated October 23, 2026, followed a resource verification exercise to assess the university’s human and material resources.
According to a statement, the commission approved a quota of 50 students for each programme, bringing the total admission capacity to 1,700 students. The approval covers full-time programmes only.
The courses are spread across five faculties: Computing and Informatics; Engineering; Allied Health Sciences; Management Sciences and Technology; and Science.
The Faculty of Computing and Informatics will offer Computer Science, Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Information Communication Technology, and Software Engineering.
The Engineering faculty has approval for 10 programmes, including Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum, Biomedical, Environmental, Systems, Geomatics, Metallurgical, and Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
The seven programmes under Allied Health Sciences are Prosthetics and Orthotics, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Complementary and Alternative Medicines, Health Information Management, Nursing Science, and Public Health.
The Faculty of Management Sciences and Technology will offer Business Information Technology, Entrepreneurship, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, and Transportation Management.
Meanwhile, the Faculty of Science will offer Biotechnology, Forensic Science, Environmental Management and Toxicology, Marine Science, Medicinal Chemistry, Medical Physics, and Nuclear Science.
The university currently shares some facilities and infrastructure with Lagos State University at its Epe campus under a temporary arrangement to facilitate its take-off.
LASU management explained in August that the arrangement was an interim measure pending FUSTECH’s relocation to its permanent site.
Established in November 2025, FUSTECH is among Nigeria’s newly established federal universities.
Following the NUC approval, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kazeem Adeola Oshikoya, expressed the university’s readiness to commence its inaugural admission process.
