MultiChoice Nigeria, a CANAL+ company, has unveiled a new lineup of DStv and GOtv subscription packages, with the changes scheduled to take effect on November 5, 2026.

The new “Expect More” structure is designed to simplify subscription choices and provide customers with packages tailored to their viewing preferences and budgets.

Under the new arrangement, DStv subscribers will choose from four packages: Starter, Select, Sports and Premium, while GOtv customers will have Easy, Starter, Select and Sports.

Speaking at a press briefing at the company’s headquarters in Victoria Island, Lagos, MultiChoice Nigeria Chief Executive Officer, Kemi Omotosho, said the changes reflected customer feedback and evolving viewing habits across television sets, smartphones, tablets and laptops.

She said the company aimed to offer better value by combining African entertainment, international content and live sports in packages suited to different audiences.

Omotosho added that pricing, channel packaging and daily operations would remain locally driven despite the company’s integration into CANAL+, with offerings tailored to Nigerian consumers and prevailing economic conditions.

Under the revised DStv lineup, the Starter package will cost N6,000 monthly and include two new channels: SuperSport KICKOFF, featuring the Premier League Match of the Week and selected UEFA Champions League fixtures, and Africa Magic+.

The Select package, priced at N11,000 monthly, will cater to family audiences with movies, local and international series, selected football and other sports, children’s programming, and Africa Magic Showcase.

The DStv Sports package will cost N21,000 monthly, offering all Premier League and UEFA Champions League matches, alongside WWE, UFC, Europa League and ESPN content, including the NBA. It will also include general entertainment channels available on the Select tier.

DStv Premium will remain the flagship package at N44,500 monthly, providing all content available on the Sports tier, in addition to Formula 1, MotoGP, Grand Slam tennis, major golf tournaments and first-run international series on M-Net.

MultiChoice also announced changes to its movie offerings, introducing M-Net Movies+, M-Net Stars and M-Net Legends to provide easier access to new releases and reduce repetition.

For customers who prefer streaming, DStv Stream will be available as a standalone service from N6,000 monthly. The service will enable subscribers to watch content on compatible smart TVs, tablets and mobile devices without a physical decoder or satellite dish.

The company also announced a decoder promotion offering a complete kit, including a dish and one-month entry-level subscription, for N15,000 across both DStv and GOtv platforms.

Addressing concerns about the transition, Vice President of Customer Value Management, Onyinye Ezenwa, said active subscribers on existing packages would automatically be moved to new tiers offering equivalent or greater content selections.

She assured customers who had paid for multiple months in advance that they would retain their full subscription periods without losing service time or experiencing interruptions.

MultiChoice executives also addressed questions about artificial intelligence and regional content expansion, noting that both areas remained under consideration as the company assessed emerging AI regulations and their implications for content quality and platform integrity.
