Abba Abubakar, son of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has thrown his weight behind President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign, unveiling an ambitious nationwide mobilisation plan that includes 10 luxury buses and a proposed two-million-man march.

Abba, who chairs the Haske Bola Tinubu Organisation (HBTO), said his support for the president was a personal decision guided by his convictions and should not be interpreted through the political affiliations of his family.

Speaking at a press conference in Abuja, he maintained that every Nigerian had the right to make independent political choices, irrespective of family relationships or differing political interests.

He said the HBTO was established to mobilise support for Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC), with plans to build a formidable grassroots network ahead of the 2027 general election.

Defending the president’s reform programme, Abba acknowledged the economic difficulties Nigerians had experienced but argued that the administration’s policies were creating opportunities and laying the foundation for long-term benefits.

He identified the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), road and transport infrastructure projects, increased allocations to state governments and interventions for public sector workers as some of the initiatives deserving recognition.

As part of its mobilisation strategy, Abba announced that the organisation would provide 10 luxury buses for a transportation support programme, beginning in the Federal Capital Territory before extending to other parts of the country.

He said the initiative was intended to demonstrate that political support must go beyond declarations and translate into tangible benefits for ordinary Nigerians.

The organisation is also planning a two-million-man mobilisation march across the country’s six geopolitical zones, with Abuja scheduled to host the first exercise.

Rallies behind Wike

Abba disclosed that the organisation was working with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike as part of efforts to secure Tinubu’s victory in the 2027 presidential election.

He described Wike as a major political figure in the group’s mobilisation structure and said its immediate priority was to support the minister’s ambition of delivering the FCT and Rivers State for Tinubu.

He further announced that the HBTO would embark on a major mobilisation exercise in Rivers State next week, adding that its structures were already being activated ahead of the campaign.

According to him, the organisation is building a disciplined grassroots machinery that would bring together political stakeholders, community leaders, youth groups, women organisations and other supporters across the country.

Abba insisted that the objective was not merely to generate impressive crowd figures but to establish an effective political network capable of converting public support into electoral victories.

He expressed confidence that the HBTO would play a significant role in Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign and the continuation of the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
