A dispatch rider has died after a collision involving a trailer along Ogunnusi Road, Ojodu, Lagos State.
The accident occurred late Wednesday opposite Christ Livingspring Apostolic Ministry (CLAM) Church, near Grammar School, leaving the rider with severe head injuries.
The victim’s lifeless body was seen on the road as sympathisers and passers-by gathered at the scene. His remains were later evacuated with the assistance of a Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) official and taken to a police station around Grammar School.
An eyewitness reportedly blamed the dispatch rider for the crash, although the actual circumstances surrounding the incident had yet to be independently established.
The trailer driver was also said to have fled the scene shortly after the accident, abandoning the victim.
A towing vehicle subsequently arrived to remove the truck and clear the road for motorists.
The police are expected to investigate the incident, while the identity of the deceased and further details of the crash were still unknown as of the time of filing this report.
