In a bid to maintain a cleaner and more orderly Lagos, the state government has apprehended miscreants causing a nuisance on Oshodi Flyover and the pedestrian bridge along Airport Road.
As part of their punishment, the miscreants are now serving community service, clearing bushes and removing dirt from the area.
According to Tokunbo Wahab, Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, this approach demonstrates the state government’s commitment to not just enforcement, but also rehabilitation.
Wahab revealed that the individuals were made to clear bushes, weeds and remove dirt along the Oshodi-Apapa expressway under the supervision of Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC) officials, also known as KAI.
The commissioner said the initiative is not just about enforcement but also rehabilitation.
“Miscreants apprehended for constituting a nuisance on Oshodi Flyover and the pedestrian bridge along Airport Road are now serving community service clearing bushes and removing dirt from the area.
“We will continue to keep our commitment to not just enforcement but also rehabilitation, ensuring a cleaner and more orderly Lagos for all,” he wrote.
This initiative aims to ensure a cleaner and more orderly Lagos for all residents.
