The Rivers State Police Command has arrested a 43-year-old woman identified as Gift for allegedly biting off the tip of her lover’s penis during a violent altercation in the Mile 3 area of Diobu, Port Harcourt.
The shocking incident occurred on Thursday and sent ripples through the densely populated Bishop Okoye Street as news spread of the gruesome act.
According to local sources, the dispute began when Gift’s lover, known only as Sunday, requested sex. Gift reportedly refused, accusing him of using sex-enhancing drugs that made their encounters uncomfortably prolonged.
A resident who spoke on condition of anonymity said Sunday became enraged by the refusal and allegedly assaulted Gift. In retaliation, Gift reportedly grabbed his genitals with her mouth and bit off the tip of his penis.
“The man was screaming in pain, and neighbours quickly rushed in. Some tried to mob the woman before the police arrived,” the resident recounted.
Police officers from the Nkpolu Division, led by the Divisional Police Officer, intervened and took Gift into custody, preventing further violence.
Sunday was rushed to an undisclosed hospital in Port Harcourt for emergency medical care.
When contacted, the spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, Superintendent Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the arrest and ongoing investigation.
“Yes, I can confirm the incident. The woman, aged 43, has been arrested and investigation is ongoing,” she said.
