About two months ago, my cousin—who had just relocated from Uyo—faced his first big Lagos test: making it to a job interview on time. He was nervous, not about the interview itself, but about the traffic. Like many Lagos newcomers, he had heard the horror stories—hours wasted in gridlock, missed appointments, and the daily stress that comes with navigating Lagos roads.

That morning, he decided to take a chance on the Blue Line Rail, boarding at Mile 2 and heading to Marina.

To his surprise, the train was not only on time—it was clean, cool, and calm.
“Eka, I reached Marina in less than 25 minutes,” he told me later. “And I wasn’t drenched in sweat or panic.”

“I sat down like Obong owo!”
“Nobody shout for me, I nor shout for anybody,” he added delightfully.

After two weeks, he got the job. And till today, he still credits the Blue Line for helping him show up calm, collected, and on time.

That’s not just his story—it’s a growing Lagos experience.

This concrete city continues to set up millions of Nigerians with its wealth of industries, growing businesses, and infrastructure.

Now, with the arrival of three new train sets—12 coaches in total— for the Red (Agbado-Ebute Metta) and Blue lines Lagosians can look forward to even shorter wait times, smoother rides, and greater comfort.

We often speak of development in buzzwords, but this right here is what real progress looks like: a public transportation system that gives dignity to the commuter and predictability to their journey.

So yes, kudos to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. In a city where transport challenges affect everything—from job opportunities to quality of life—this is a game-changer. And even more impressive, it’s not just talk. These are real coaches, running on real tracks, delivering real impact.

The Blue and Red Line Rails aren’t just transport project; it’s a symbol of what is possible when leadership meets commitment.

Is the work done? Not yet. But with each milestone—like this addition of 12 new coaches—we get closer to the Lagos we all dream of.

Let’s stay hopeful. Let’s stay supportive. And more importantly, let’s stay on track—literally and figuratively.
Lagos is working. Sanwo-Olu is delivering. And with this kind of leadership, there’s still more to come.
