A young woman has been found dead under suspicious circumstances in a hotel located in the Gwarinpa area of Abuja, with the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command confirming that her hands were tied behind her back.

The incident, which came to public attention through a viral video, was confirmed on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, in a statement issued by the FCT Police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh.

According to the statement, the FCT Commissioner of Police, Ajao Adewale, has ordered a thorough and discreet investigation into the case.

“Preliminary investigation reveals that the victim, later identified as Aladi Johnson, also known as Tessy, a female from Benue State, checked into a hotel located at 3rd Avenue, Gwarinpa, on June 16,” Adeh stated.

She further disclosed that Tessy had checked in with an unidentified male companion who was later seen leaving the hotel alone. The woman was discovered unconscious by hotel staff during routine service rounds, prompting immediate contact with the police.

Medical personnel later confirmed her death at the scene.

The CP has urged the public to remain calm and allow investigators to carry out a comprehensive inquiry, as efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend the suspect.
