The Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC), commonly known as Eko DisCo, has announced a planned 25-day power outage across parts of Lagos State due to scheduled maintenance by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN).

In an official statement posted on its X (formerly Twitter) account on Friday, the utility company disclosed that the outage will begin on Monday, July 28, and run through Thursday, August 21, 2025. The blackout is expected to occur daily from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

EKEDC explained that the planned outage is to enable TCN to carry out critical maintenance work on the Omotosho–Ikeja West 330kV transmission line.

“The outage will occur between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. each day, affecting several parts of Lagos and other serviced areas. During this period, residents should expect intermittent electricity supply and load shedding across the Eko DisCo network,” the company stated.

Customers within the affected areas have been advised to plan accordingly and make necessary arrangements during the maintenance window.
