Catchball Federation starts Catchball to support girls in Lagos

The Nigeria Catchball Federation (NCF) has introduced Catchball to young girls in Mushin, Lagos State, to promote sports and empower them through physical activity and teamwork.

The initiative aims to help girls stay active, build confidence, and become strong contributors to their communities. It also supports family bonding, strengthens society, and contributes to national development.

The event took place on Thursday at the Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA) Centre in Mushin.

It was led by coordinator Kaosara Valentine, with support from Tolani Ogundimu of the Ministry of Women Affairs.

NCF President and CEO Mr. Bola Babarinde and Itohan Imoisili represented the Federation, while the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) covered the event.

During the program, Babarinde spoke to the girls about the many benefits of Catchball, explaining how the sport can open up new opportunities for growth and exposure both locally and internationally.

The event featured speeches and activities that encouraged participation and highlighted the sport’s positive impact.
