The Lagos State Police Command has declared a notorious land-grabber, Abiodun Ariori, wanted over his alleged involvement in the killing of three persons during a violent clash in the Owode Onirin area of the state.
The Command’s spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday in Lagos.
According to him, preliminary investigations and available prima facie evidence linked the suspect—who is the Chief Executive Officer of Prosperous Ariori Golden Venture Limited—to the deadly incident.
Hundeyin explained that the clash, which broke out between traders and land-grabbers, left three people dead and a police inspector critically injured.
“Three persons sustained fatal injuries and were confirmed dead when rushed to the hospital by the police. The officer is in a life-threatening condition and currently receiving treatment,” Hundeyin said.
The police spokesperson added that all efforts to arrest the suspect have so far failed, as he is believed to have gone into hiding. He urged members of the public to assist in apprehending Ariori, whose last known address is in Gowon estate, Egbeda, and hand him over to the nearest police station.

Hundeyin further disclosed that the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Olohundare Jimoh, personally led officers to the scene to restore peace, reopen blocked roads, and ensure the free flow of traffic. Adequate police personnel have since been deployed to prevent a resurgence of violence.
In a related development, four policemen allegedly brought in from outside Lagos by the suspect were arrested and detained for going on illegal duty. They are currently facing an orderly room trial, and the outcome will be made public, Hundeyin assured.
