Social development experts have called for increased collaboration to promote gender equality, social inclusion, and sustainable development in line with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 17.

At a recent stakeholders meeting in Abuja, Nigeria, Mr. Ambrose Okojie, President of the Nigeria-Germany Transformation Hub (NGTH), Mrs. Vivie Obazenu, NGTH’s Director of Programmes, and Dr. Aminu Suleiman, Director-General of the Tinubu Support Organisation, emphasized that no single organization can drive social change alone.

Mr. Okojie said, “No single actor can drive transformation alone, as partnerships rooted in trust, mutual respect, and shared purpose avail us positive change.”

He stressed the importance of mobilizing resources and fostering cooperation to increase gender participation, promote nutrition awareness, and support sustainable agriculture.

He also pledged to connect women and youth in agriculture with buyers of Nigerian produce.

Mrs. Obazenu highlighted the need for integrated agricultural development and described nutrition awareness as “an essential tool for combating hunger and building food sovereignty.”

She also spoke about expanding NGTH’s focus on bilateral cooperation and diaspora engagement to address social inclusion gaps, gender inequalities, and dignified migration pathways through intercultural exchange, arts, and sports.

Dr. Suleiman urged stakeholders to use the Nigeria-Germany Transformation Hub as “a launchpad to change the narratives in the Nigerian Social Enterprise EcoSystem.”

The experts agreed that collaboration across sectors and borders remains the most effective way to achieve lasting transformation and address social inclusion challenges.
