Frontline All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship hopeful in Ogun State, Hon. Jelili Kayode Amusan, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola and Governor Dapo Abiodun for securing Federal Government approval of the Ijebu-Ode Inland Dry Port.
The project, to be sited on 130 hectares along the Epe/Mojoda Expressway, is expected to ease cargo evacuation from Lagos ports, boost investment, create jobs, and transform Ogun into a key trade and logistics hub.
Amusan, a maritime industry player and entrepreneur who previously owned vessels and operated port-related businesses, described the project as a landmark achievement for both the state and the South West.
He pledged that, if elected governor in 2027, he would ensure full support and accelerated development of the dry port and supporting infrastructure, stressing its importance to industrialization and economic growth.
“The approval of the Ijebu-Ode Inland Dry Port is a bold step in line with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and Governor Abiodun’s infrastructure vision like the construction of the excellent Ijebu-Ode-Epe expressway where the dry port would be located.
“As someone with practical maritime experience, I understand the strategic value of this project and will work to maximize its benefits for our people,” Amusan stated.
