Lagos Police name Abimbola Adebisi as new public relations officer

The Lagos State Police Command has appointed Superintendent of Police (SP) Abimbola Adebisi as its new Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO).

Adebisi succeeds Acting PPRO Babaseyi Oluseyi, who took over the role temporarily after Benjamin Hundeyin was elevated to Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO) on September 4, 2025.

A versatile officer with a strong academic and professional background, Adebisi earned a BA (Ed) in English Language and Literature from Tai Solarin University of Education, Ogun State. She further obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution, as well as an MA in English Language from the National Open University of Nigeria.

Her commitment to professional development includes specialized training in Human Rights, Human Psychology, Conflict Management, and Child Protection at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre. She also completed the Advanced Detective Course at the Police Staff College, Jos.

Adebisi is an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), a member of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA), the International Association of Women Police (IAWP), and the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP).

She has served in several strategic roles, including Staff Officer to the Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations), Personal Assistant to the Commissioner of Police in the Special Protection Unit (SPU), and most recently as Police Public Relations Liaison Officer at the SPU, Force Headquarters, Abuja.

With her experience, training, and affiliations, SP Abimbola Adebisi is expected to bring fresh depth and professionalism to police-community engagement in Lagos State.
