The Federal Government, state governments, and local government councils (LGs) have announced that they received ₦2.35 trillion from the federation account for August.
They explained that the revenue included statutory allocations, Value Added Tax (VAT), Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL), and exchange differences.
Officials said the distribution ensures funding for government operations and development across all tiers of government.
They reported that the disbursement took place during the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) meeting held on Wednesday in Abuja.
It was outlined that from ₦1.48 trillion statutory revenue, the Federal Government received ₦684.46 billion, states ₦347.17 billion, LGs ₦267.65 billion, and oil-producing states ₦179.31 billion as 13% derivation.
VAT totaled ₦672.90 billion, with the Federal Government receiving ₦100.94 billion, states ₦336.45 billion, and LGs ₦235.52 billion.
From ₦32.34 billion EMTL, the Federal Government got ₦4.85 billion, the states ₦16.17 billion, and the LGs ₦11.32 billion.
The exchange difference of ₦41.28 billion was shared as ₦19.80 billion for the Federal Government, ₦10.04 billion for states, and ₦7.74 billion for LGs.
Oil-producing states received ₦3.70 billion as derivation revenue.
They added that the total gross revenue available in August reached ₦3.64 trillion.
Of this, ₦124.84 billion was deducted for collection costs, and ₦1.29 trillion was set aside for transfers, interventions, refunds, and savings.
Officials noted that VAT revenue increased to ₦722.62 billion in August from ₦687.94 billion in July.
They added that gross statutory revenue dropped to ₦2.84 trillion from ₦3.07 trillion, as revenues from Petroleum Profit Tax (PPT), Companies Income Tax (CIT), import duty, EMTL, and excise duty declined, while oil and gas royalties, VAT, and CET levies rose.
