In a move set to redefine Nigeria’s domestic gas market, the Dangote Petroleum Refinery has once again reduced its ex-depot price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) — from ₦810 per kilogram last Wednesday to ₦760 per kilogram today.

With this latest adjustment, Dangote Refinery now offers the lowest LPG price in the country, significantly undercutting major competitors. For comparison, Matrix and Ardova depots sell at ₦920/kg, while A.Y.M Shafa and NIPCO offer their product at ₦910/kg. Stockgap Depot remains the highest at ₦950/kg.

This ₦150 to ₦190 per kilogram price gap highlights Dangote’s deliberate strategy to disrupt the market, making LPG more affordable and compelling other suppliers to reconsider their pricing models.

Industry observers believe this move is a calculated effort by the refinery to stabilize the LPG market, curb exploitative pricing, and ensure consistent supply for domestic consumers.

By driving down costs, the Dangote Refinery continues to position itself as a market leader in Nigeria’s downstream petroleum sector — one capable of influencing national energy affordability and accessibility.
