Police arrest eight cultists, armed robbers in Ikorodu raid

Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested eight suspected cultists and armed robbers during a targeted raid in the Odogunyan area of Ikorodu.

The suspects — identified as Fadiya Ayodele (27), Lawal Rasheed (28), Akerele Demilare (27), Alimi Victor (23), Okiki Alufoge (25), Nurudeen Dolapo (25), Agboola Samuel (25), and Ayolade Victor (25) — were apprehended by the Bullock Tactical Team at about 5:30 a.m. on October 15, 2025, following credible intelligence.

Items recovered from the suspects include a Nigerian military camouflage uniform, a battle axe, an assault dagger, several charms, and counterfeit $100 bills totaling $3,000.

During interrogation, Fadiya Ayodele confessed to being the leader of the Eiye Confraternity in the area. He also disclosed that he had previously handed over a locally made pistol to an associate, Adewunmi Annadex, who is currently on the run. Police say efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspect and recover the firearm.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to maintaining law and order, assuring residents that operations to dismantle criminal networks across the state will continue relentlessly.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed the arrests in a statement issued on October 16, 2025.
