Akilo waterworks project takes off, set to boost access to clean water

A significant stride has been made in enhancing access to clean and reliable water in the state, as the Akilo Waterworks project has officially commenced.

This development follows the signing of a partnership deal between the state government and WaterAid in February 2025.

Contractors from WaterAid are now on-site, working towards the project’s completion within a six-month timeline.

The state government has assured that the project will be executed with speed, efficiency, and top-tier quality.

The Akilo Waterworks, Ogba area in Ikeja project is a critical initiative aimed at reinforcing sustainable urban water management.

By improving access to clean water, the project will have a positive impact on the lives of residents, aligning with the state government’s commitment to enhancing water supply across the state.
