Mr. Idowu Daramola, publicly known as Ebony, an All Progressives Congress (APC) chairmanship aspirant for Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA, has rejected the outcome of the party’s primary election, describing it as fraudulent, laughable, and a threat to internal democracy.

In a statement issued on Monday by Mr. Morufdeen Bello, spokesperson for the Ebony Campaign Team, Daramola condemned the results announced by the APC Electoral Committee, led by Mr. Babatunde Ogala, SAN, who declared Lawal Jakande the winner of Saturday’s primary held at the party’s secretariat.

According to Daramola, the outcome of the primary does not reflect the true voting process or the will of the delegates.

“The announced results are predetermined, far removed from the day’s realities, and not a reflection of the true election outcome,” he said. “This illogical daylight fraud is unacceptable, undemocratic, and damaging to internal party democracy.”

Daramola expressed outrage over being credited with zero votes, stating it was both inaccurate and insulting.

“How can someone who received 17 out of 25 delegate votes be credited with zero? This is a travesty of justice, an affront to reason, and an insult to the delegates of Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA,” he stated.

He described the results as a disgraceful manipulation and strongly opposed what he called the imposition of candidates.

Daramola called on President Bola Tinubu, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and members of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC) to intervene and ensure transparency.

“We urge the leadership of our party to investigate what happened behind closed doors before the counting of ballots and uphold the democratic will of the people,” he said.

Out of 57 expected APC chairmanship candidates across Lagos State, 55 emerged through the party’s primary process ahead of the July 12 local government elections.
