APC fixes ₦5m nomination fees for Lagos LG chairmanship election

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the nomination and administrative fees for aspirants vying for various seats in the July 12 local government election in Lagos State.

According to the party’s election guidelines, chairmanship aspirants will pay N5 million as a nomination fee and N500,000 as an administrative fee.

Discounted Fees for Certain Categories
The party has introduced discounted fees for certain categories of aspirants. Female chairmanship aspirants will pay N2.5 million as a nomination fee, while aspirants below 40 years old will receive a 50% discount on their nomination fee. Aspirants with disabilities are exempt from paying nomination fees but will pay a reduced administrative fee.

Councillorship Position Fees
For the councillorship position, male aspirants will pay N1 million for the nomination form and N100,000 as an administrative fee. Female aspirants will pay N250,000 for the nomination form and N100,000 as an administrative fee. Youths and persons living with disabilities will also receive discounted fees.

Eligibility Criteria
The party has outlined eligibility criteria for aspirants, including being a Nigerian citizen, possessing a minimum of a school certificate level education, and meeting specific age requirements. Aspirants must also submit evidence of party membership and active party support.
