Tinubu...endorsed by 22 APC governors for a second term

All 22 governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have unanimously endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the party’s sole presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections.

The endorsement was announced on Thursday by the Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, during the APC National Summit held at the State House Banquet Hall in Abuja. The summit, themed “Renewed Hope Agenda: The Journey So Far,” reviewed the administration’s achievements and outlined future strategies.

Governor Uzodimma moved the motion for President Tinubu’s adoption as the APC’s sole candidate, which was promptly seconded by PGF Vice Chairman and Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani. The motion was put to a voice vote and was enthusiastically adopted, receiving a standing ovation from summit attendees.

Prominent figures in attendance included Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, members of the National Assembly, serving and former governors, and APC members from all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

This development comes just five days after a similar endorsement by the Northwest APC faction, signaling a growing intra-party consensus and solidifying support behind President Tinubu’s bid for a second term in office.
