The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) has announced the opening of applications for the 2025/26 Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships in Nigeria. Funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), this prestigious scholarship is one of three Master’s programmes offered by the CSC.
The scholarship is designed to support talented and motivated individuals who are committed to contributing to sustainable development in their home countries. It enables recipients to pursue part-time Master’s degrees with UK universities while residing in their home countries, offering a flexible and accessible route to high-quality postgraduate education.
To be eligible, applicants must:
Be a citizen or permanent resident of a Commonwealth country,
Hold an undergraduate degree of at least upper second class (2:1),
Demonstrate that they would be unable to afford the programme without the scholarship.
Participating UK universities will oversee their own recruitment processes to nominate candidates. Final selection will be made by the CSC based on academic merit and the potential developmental impact of the applicant’s proposed study.
While applicants are not required to take an IELTS test, individual universities may request proof of English proficiency.
Applications must be submitted via the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission’s online portal.
