Chidinma: How I discovered Super TV CEO’s body in Lekki apartment

Chidinma Ojukwu, the prime suspect in the 2021 murder of Super TV CEO Michael Usifo Ataga, testified in court about discovering his body in a Lekki apartment.

She told the Lagos High Court that she found Ataga lying in a pool of blood after returning from buying food and juice on June 15, 2021.

Key Points from Chidinma’s Testimony
– Relationship with Ataga: Chidinma met Ataga in November 2020 through a mutual friend and described him as generous, stating he paid her school fees and supported her cosmetics business.
– Events Leading to the Discovery: Chidinma claimed Ataga invited her to spend time with him ahead of his birthday, and they checked into a short-let apartment in Lekki. She alleged he requested cannabis and Rohypnol, sending her N15,000, and later gave her N25,000 for food.
– Discovery of the Body: Chidinma testified that she returned to the apartment on June 15, 2021, and found blood stains at the entrance and Ataga’s lifeless body inside. She claimed she panicked, cleaned herself up, changed clothes, and packed her belongings, including some of Ataga’s items.

Trial Adjourned
The trial has been adjourned to April 28, 2025. Chidinma’s testimony provides insight into the events surrounding Ataga’s death.
