The Lagos State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has reaffirmed its dedication to ensuring school safety in the state.
On Wednesday, at the Annual Stakeholders’ Meeting on Academic Calendar for the 2025/2026 session, State Commandant Mr. Adedotun Keshinro emphasized the importance of registering schools on the national safe school website to enhance safety and security for students, staff, and host communities.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of Corps Oluwaseun Abolurin, represented the Commandant at the meeting, which was organized by the Lagos State Government’s Office of Quality and Education Assurance (OQEA), Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education.
Abolurin was accompanied by staff from the Safe School Response team.
The team highlighted proactive strategies to eradicate social vices such as bullying, cultism, violence, drugs, and sexual abuse among school children. The Lagos State Commandant expressed gratitude to the Honourable Commissioner of Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Tola Ali-Balogun, for his support in formulating policies to protect the rights of children and ensure better school safety and security.
