DAAR Communications Plc, owners of Africa Independent Television (AIT) and RayPower Fam, has debunked reports claiming the media organisation has shut down its Lagos operations.

Reacting to widespread rumours suggesting that financial difficulties had crippled AIT’s Lagos bureau, the company described the claims as false and misleading.

In a telephone interview, Collins Uwaeze, Marketing Executive at DAAR Communications, dismissed the reports as “very untrue,” clarifying that what is happening within the organisation is a strategic restructuring to enhance productivity.

“There is no shutdown of AIT Lagos,” Uwaeze stated. “What we are doing is a realignment to make the company more efficient. We are rightsizing to optimise workflow, but no staff has lost their job.”

A staff member, who preferred not to be named, also confirmed that AIT Lagos remains on air despite the internal adjustments.

“The station is still broadcasting. What’s going on is restructuring and multitasking — people are now handling more responsibilities to keep things running smoothly,” the source explained.

The management emphasised that the realignment is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen DAAR Communications’ operations and ensure long-term sustainability.
