The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a fresh reduction in the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol, across Nigeria. The new rates now range from N875 to N905 per litre, depending on location—a N15 per litre reduction across all partner retail outlets.
This update was posted on the refinery’s official social media handle on Thursday and affects all major fuel marketers affiliated with the refinery, including MRS, Ardova, Heyden, Optima Energy, Techno Oil, and Hyde Energy.
Previously, Lagos residents paid N890 per litre, while prices in the North East and South-South regions peaked at N920. Under the revised pricing:
- Lagos: N875
- South-West: N885
- North-East: N905
- North-West & Central: N895
- South-South & South-East: N905
The refinery has encouraged consumers to buy only from its approved partner stations and report any pricing violations via the following hotlines: +234 707 470 2099 or +234 707 470 2100.
“Our quality petrol and diesel are refined for better engine performance and are environmentally friendly,” the company noted.
The price cut follows the return of a refund benefit policy introduced earlier this week, aimed at easing the cost burden on consumers. It also coincides with a surge in petrol importation by independent oil marketers, with over 496.17 million litres imported between May 11 and 20, 2025, according to the Tanker Position Report obtained from Blue Sea Maritime.
On Monday, the 650,000 barrels-per-day Lekki-based refinery stated that the naira-for-crude deal has enabled it to lower prices at the pump, reinforcing its pledge to keep petrol affordable and stable, despite global fluctuations in crude oil prices.
In a statement signed by its Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, Anthony Chiejina, Dangote Refinery reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Nigerian economy and easing fuel-related pressure on consumers.
