Deploys 4,000 CNG-Powered Tankers, Offers Free Logistics and Credit Facility to Large Buyers
In a strategic move set to reshape Nigeria’s energy landscape, Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced it will commence nationwide distribution of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and diesel from August 15, 2025. The distribution will target marketers, petrol dealers, manufacturers, telecom firms, aviation operators, and other large-scale consumers.
To ensure seamless delivery, the refinery has invested in 4,000 brand-new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered tankers and over 100 additional tankers for daughter booster stations (CNG refuelling stations), enabling efficient distribution across all regions of the country.
As part of its strategy to enhance accessibility and affordability, Dangote Refinery will offer free logistics support to all customers under the scheme. This move is expected to significantly reduce transportation costs, support the revival of dormant petrol stations, and drive down inflation by reducing production and operational costs for businesses.
“This strategic programme is part of our broader commitment to eliminating logistics costs, enhancing energy efficiency, promoting sustainability and supporting Nigeria’s economic development,” the refinery said in a statement on Sunday.
In a further boost to the initiative, the refinery will provide a credit facility to large buyers. Purchasers of at least 500,000 litres of fuel will be eligible for an additional 500,000 litres on a two-week credit term, secured by a bank guarantee.
The company has invited all stakeholders—marketers, manufacturers, and large users—to register between June 16 and August 15, 2025. Registration includes a Know Your Customer (KYC) process and is open via dedicated phone lines and email.
The project aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and has been supported by the Federal Government’s Naira-for-Crude initiative, which has helped stabilise domestic fuel supply amid global price volatility.
“This initiative is expected to create jobs, revitalise SMEs, increase government revenue, improve fuel access in rural areas, and build investor confidence,” the statement added.
Dangote Petroleum Refinery reiterated its commitment to inclusive national development, describing the initiative as “a revolution in the midstream and downstream sectors” and a major step in realising a more sustainable, efficient, and accessible energy future for Nigeria.
