Egbetokun appoints Lagos Police spokesperson CSP Hundeyin new Force PRO

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has appointed Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Benjamin Hundeyin as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO).

Hundeyin, a seasoned police officer and communicator, succeeds Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who has served in the role since 2021.

The new police spokesperson holds a BA (Hons) in English Language from Lagos State University and an MSc in Legal Criminology & Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan. He also earned a Certificate in Civil-Military Coordination from the Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Training Centre, Jaji, Kaduna State.

Hundeyin is an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), a member of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA), and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM).

His career includes serving as Police Public Relations Officer at Zone 2 Command Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos; Administration Officer at the Force Public Relations Department, Abuja; and as part of Nigeria’s contingent to the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Darfur, Sudan, in 2020. Until his latest appointment, he was the Lagos State Police Command PRO.

IGP Egbetokun urged Hundeyin to leverage his extensive communication and security experience to strengthen police-public relations and enhance the image of the Force.
